Key Priorities of the Swiss Financial Commission (SFC)

  1. Establishment of Cooperation and Communication

    • SFC prioritizes fostering cooperation with state bodies, national organizations, the business community, and other interested parties to address issues related to the effective functioning of the non-banking financial sector.
  2. Stable Partnerships

    • The SFC maintains stable relationships with industry organizations, conducting regular consultations to discuss market development and legislative amendments.
  3. Consultative Council Initiation

    • In late 2010, the Chairman of the SFC initiated the establishment of a Consultative Council, which includes representatives from industry organizations.
    • A Memorandum for cooperation and interaction was signed between the Swiss Financial Commission and non-governmental organizations within the non-banking financial sector.
  4. Regular Meetings

    • The Consultative Council convenes regularly to deliberate and make decisions on critical and topical issues concerning the sector.

  6. Financial Stability Advisory Council

    • A partnership aimed at enhancing the sustainability of the financial system and strategic planning for financial market development is realized through the Financial Stability Advisory Council, which includes the Heads of the Swiss Financial Commission, the Swiss National Bank, and the Ministry of Finance.
  7. Educational Initiatives

    • In line with the educational initiatives outlined in the SFC strategy, the authority collaborates with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Science.
  8. Information Exchange for Supervision

    • For effective supervision, the SFC exchanges information with the Central Depository, the Privatization Agency, the Swiss National Bank, the Ministry of Interior, and the courts.
